These regular hirers use Llanymynech Village Hall and their events should be listed on our online calendar here.
Border Preschool
Llanymynech Village Hall has been home to Border Preschool for over 35 years, we are a committee run group that has charity status providing early years education for children aged 2 to 5 years old.
Operating from a purpose-built unit at the rear of the hall our group is registered with Shropshire Council but serves families from both Powys and Shropshire. We pride ourselves in providing a ‘home from home’ environment and have been awarded an Outstanding report from OFSTED in 2015 and 2019.
Our openings times are 8.00 am until 6.00 pm Powys term dates only, we offer an after-school club for 5- to 11-year-olds picking up from our local Carreghoffa Primary School. Funding for childcare places is available. For more information please call Sandra Hayward 01691 830565 or visit our website borderpreschool.chessck.co.uk.

Sessions are paid for weekly at £1.50 first child & 50p for each additional child.
The Lads
Llanymynech Amateur Dramatic Society (LADS) is a community group performing dramas and comedies broadly speaking three times a year, usually at Llanymynech Village Hall but we have been known to go “on tour”. We’re always on the lookout for new recruits, be it acting, directing, scenery building, costumes, front of house etc. We’re a fun, friendly group (honestly – we haven’t killed anyone for ages!) so if you fancy getting involved and/or joining our mailing list just email info@ladstheate.co.uk or margkyn@hotmail.com for more details.
Dressmaking classes with Sarah Thursfield
We meet on Wednesday evenings for three ten-week terms a year. You bring your choice of project, and I give you whatever help and support you need: some people turn up with their first pattern and a brand-new sewing machine to start from the very beginning, and others just like the two dedicated hours of uninterrupted sewing time. Numbers are limited to eight, or we wouldn’t fit into the room, so please contact me to check if there’s a place available, either through the hall manager or via my website at www.sarahthursfield.com.
If you can’t wait for a new term or want some help with a fitting or mastering a new technique, you can come to my workshop for a one-to-one session.
Please note that ‘dressmaking’ doesn’t include curtains or uphostery!
